The recent hysteria over the “I Pledge” video has been labeled as “leftist propaganda” and was one of the recent topics of choice from the hysterical camps. The video is shown in its entirety below.

A message of hope to help those less fortunate than ourselves, to feed the hungry, to be better parents, to volunteer our time to causes that we care about, to help sick children, and to care about their neighbors is a breath of fresh air in a world of selfish consumerism and if we could move past this ridiculous internal war that so many, particularly on the right, seem to be intent on happening, just imagine what we could achieve together and the good that we could bring about.

But instead of embracing an opportunity for selfless service, the talking heads of Fox News and other hysterical followers decided to protest the video and brand it as propaganda. Notice a few of the clips below.

Apparently someone needs to make Fox News and associates aware of the fact that slavery is indeed a reality for over 27 million people who have been enslaved through out the known world. Additionally, what on Earth about any of this message could any rational person possibly object to? Are we that divided that we do not want to give our young people or citizens of every age inspiration to reach out to make a difference based solely on the fact that they can not accept loosing an election. This video has nothing to do with politics or whether you happen to be a Democrat or a Republican, it is about getting every one to make small changes in their lives that can make big changes around the globe

Anything, or anyone, that is calling our children to a higher purpose than consumerism should be welcomed, even celebrated, and for anyone to look at such a docile and positive message and come away “out raged” is a sign that they are obviously suffering from the American Hysteria fever.

If we have learned nothing over the past couple of years from this economic, political, and cultural crisis it should be that the status quo simply does not work. The system is broken, it has failed, and that is not a Democratic issue or a Republican issue, it is an American issue, it is a human issue. The system needs to be fixed, and the only way that will happen is through change.  But we hear the hysterical battle cry to rally Republicans and conservatives against the darkness of change and they use fear and propaganda to support their call to this cultural civil war.

But the truth is that change is not, in and of itself, a bad thing. When things fall apart, when something is not working, change is the only way to fix it. And ladies and gentlemen, it is very clear that things are NOT working. The American system of old has failed, and we do need change. We can not become a 21^st century America with an 18^th century mindset. If America is to survive, we do need change. And as 2008 elections showed us, the majority of the American people are hungry for that change. But the Republicans are recently acting as if those votes do not count, they are dismissing the will of the American people for their own agenda, one based on fear, bias, and petty prejudices.

A legitimate debate about legitimate issues is one thing, rhetorical hysteria that stands in the way of true progress and is detrimental to the American people, and the country in general, is another. As a former Republican, I have to say that enough is enough. The actions and statements by the warmongers that have taken over the Republican megaphone do not represent American values, or family values and in fact are marring any chances that true family values have of surviving in this current culture war.

So now is the time for the voice of reason, this is why American Hysteria was born. To stand in the night and shine that small light of logic and reason. We are not a Democratic mouth piece, we are not a Republican propaganda machine… we are here for the truth. America Hysteria will point out the hysterical ramblings of the right and fight their propaganda with the truth. We will provide analyses of the left with a careful lens of scrutiny to complain when the motives and actions are wrong and offer valuable insight and alternatives when the current course is wavering from the good of the people. We are edgy, opinionated and controversial but above all, we shall be honest, insightful and inspiring.

So, sit back, have a seat, and prepare to be inspired to a brand new way of thinking as we show you what the world really looks like without the mud slinging. In a time when America is teetering on the edge American Hysteria will be the voice of reason.
